• What I want to learn in this class:
Networking is vital. At least that is what I am told. I am unsure about where to go, how to do it, and who to network with. I would like to learn more about networking.• Project I would like to do:
Project SummaryUsing a topic of your choice, a topic that you have not dealt with at all, write 3 articles and put those articles into a well designed publication about the topic.
Purpose
Provide subscription holders with the most recent news/information about the topic that they so love.
Sender
The publication is the sender. In other words, the sender is one who is passionate about the topic.
Message
Choose the message, whether it be news, information, gossip, call to action or something else. The message needs to be relavent to the topic.
Audience
Subscription holders or potential subscription holders who are passionate about the topic, or would like to learn more about the topic.
Size
The publication should 8½" x 11" when folded.
• Concerns I have about my development as a designer:
- My biggest concern is dimensionality. What I mean by this is the fact that most of my designs are very flat, they don't have a lot of dimensionality to them.
- Suggestions:
- One suggestion I have for this concern is to force myself to work on designing with dimensionality, not allowing myself to work with flat design.
- Another suggestion I have is quite the opposite of the first, push the flat design and make it a strength, rather than a dimensionality weakness.
- My second concern is form. I feel that I am strong in concept as well as professionalism, I feel weak in form, including typography.
- Suggestions:
- The first suggestion I have is to have an exercise on form, whether it's a quick one class period exercise or something a little bigger I don't think it matters.
- The second suggestion I have is to take a weak concept, and focus solely on form.
